Izzy's school is now a uniform school. I love it both as a teacher and a parent. I spent a lot less money on school clothes this year. They do not have to wear uniforms on Friday.

These are a few photos taken in our yard this month that I wanted to share. Cole is unwilling to sit for photos, but I managed to get get a good one of him grinning. He only has 6 teeth (four on top and two on bottom). The side shot also shows a slight "curl" in his hair. Shirley begged me not to cut his hair because she thought it would curl and now I am glad I listened. Izzy loves flowers and is a great helper in the garden. We had a lesson on weeding last night.

Izzy and Nathan attend Daddy Daughter Dance

Nathan and Izzy attended the Daddy Daughter Dance at St. Luke on Friday night. It was a fundraiser for Chloe, a 5 year girl with neuroblastoma, to offset medical cost. Izzy was super exited about wearing a frilly dress (thanks for the dress Shannon!), painting her fingernails, and having her hair curled. I ask God for blessing on Chloe and strength for all she has gone through and will continue to go through on her journey to beat cancer. Cole's One Year Old check up

Cole had his one year check up today. I couldn't resist looking back at his baby pictures and thinking about how fast he is growing. He was born weighing 8 lbs, 15 ounces and 21 inches long. Now he weighs 24.5 lbs (67%) and is 31 inches long(79%). Those are great numbers because he was underweight at his last visit. He is a very active boy.

Cole Update

Cole is growing up so fast. I wanted to share all the things that he has accomplished. He has been drinking only from his big boy sippy cups since right after Thanksgiving. He took his first steps on December 3. He still prefers crawling, but he has taken as many 12 consecutive steps. He has two teeth on the bottom and has two teeth coming in on top.

We had a great Christmas Day. Izzy got exactly what she wanted from Santa. She got a wedding dress up set and a bike- complete with helmet and knee pads. Cole got a ball set that has a soccer, basketball, baseball and football.

We started celebrating a little early with a birthday party with our friends and family in Alabama on November 2. The cake had a real Barbie inside. Izzy's favorite things are Tinkerbell and Barbie Fairy Princess and Disney Princess. We have tickets to see "Peter Pan" at the Springer in Columbus after Thanksgiving.

Izzy fell and hit her head. She asked for an ice pack, but complained that it was too cold to hold. She disappeared to her room and came back like this. She took one of her long hair bands and used it to hold her ice bag in place. I thought that was pretty creative.

Izzy starts Soccer- YMCA

They held a clinic to start teaching some basic skills.
Her first game is Oct 4th! Dribbling: refers to the maneuvering of a ball around a defender through short skillful taps or kicks with either the legs. The purpose of such an action is to bring the ball past a defender legally and to create opportunities to score.

Cole is trying to crawl. He does this "plank" push up that we think is hilarious and then he gets really mad that he didn't make it very far. He is trying to pull up to a stand, but he only makes it a few inches up before he tumbles back down.

Izzy started pre-k on august 11, 2008. She loves her teacher. I get to see Izzy at school because I now teach special education pre-k there. We eat lunch at the same time. Izzy has made many friends at school. We couldn't believe it when we found out that Izzy has a classmate named Izzy.

We spent July 24-27 in Blue Ridge, Georgia at a cabin. Our friends, Chase and Karen, from Maryville, TN and Steve and Mary, from Birmingham, Al joined us. We all graduated from Auburn University. Everyone brought their children and all the kids had a blast canoeing, kayaking, and fishing.

We had Cole's 4 month check up today. He weighed 16 lbs and 14 oz and is 25 inches long.

After being released to go home on Friday, we had to return for a follow up test on Saturday because of the elevated count indicating jaundice. This test showed that his levels had increased and they wanted him to be admitted for treatment. This included many hours under a blue lamp and a regimented schedule of feeding. The pictures below show Cole in his protective eye mask and "glowing" in the lamp bed.

He has arrived! Coleman Boone Wright, AKA Cole, arrived today, Jan. 30th at 2:56 pm.
